Project Description

KPIT Board under its flagship program, KP Youth Employment Program, started an initiative named “Women Empowerment through Digital Skills,” which aimed to ensure women’s inclusion in the digital economy. The project was supported by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board, funded by Multi-Donor Trust Fund and The World Bank.

Objectives

  1. Skill Development: To provide women with practical, market-relevant skills that align with local job market demands, helping them secure employment and advance in their careers.
  2. Entrepreneurship: To support women in starting and growing their own businesses, fostering economic self-sufficiency and job creation in their communities.
  3. Social Inclusion: To promote the social inclusion of women from marginalized or disadvantaged backgrounds by providing them with skills and opportunities for employment.
  4. Career Advancement: To enable women to pursue and advance in careers traditionally underrepresented by women, such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields and leadership roles.
  5. Lifelong Learning: To instill a culture of lifelong learning and adaptability among women, allowing them to continuously upgrade their skills to meet evolving job market demands.
  6. Community Development: To contribute to the overall development of communities and societies by enhancing the economic and social contributions of women.

Benefits

After the successful execution of the program about 3000 women of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa  were trained with digital skills – like graphic designing, social media marketing, WordPress design & development, blogging & content writing, and digital tools for productivity – and promote the financial independence of these women by providing them employment opportunities through digital jobs.
